FEE-LOSOPHY
My prime motivation in practicing shiatsu is in educating and empowering people around their health and wellbeing so they gain a deeper understanding of the ‘layers’ of their being, how and where that can get stuck, and what they need to do to address those.
Money is secondary, yet I also need to honour over three decades of ongoing training and practice along with the fact I also need to live!
To balance accessibility and sustainability, I have a Sliding Scale Fee Policy where you pay what you can, based on your financial situation. This isn’t about status or income level; it’s about your real-world capacity, as not everyone with a ‘well paid’ job has disposable income, and conversely, not everyone with a ‘concession’ has a lack of disposable income.
At the top end of the scale, money is not an issue and you are ‘paying it forward’ to support those people in a less comfortable position. At the lower end, life is hand to mouth and a constant stress.
It is a Community Approach, so access to support for EVERYONE is equally important, because as a whole “we are only as strong as our weakest link”
The key is honesty. Ask yourself what is this worth in my health and wellbeing, and what am I realistically able to pay? I don’t need your reasoning, just your chosen amount. And if your situation changes, your fee can too.
FEE SCALE – – – $80 to $150
As a guideline the recommended fees are $120 full / $90 concession (with a valid health care card)
